Well, yeah, but that's another axis.
It's like the Globex Corporation. Sure, they were working on a doomsday machine and ended up conquering the American East Coast, but the benefits and working environment were genuinely really great.

OTOH I am picturing a person swimming on the interface between water and air, but upside down, so that they are trying to paddle and kick in the air for propulsion ... and not going anywhere very fast. LOL.
