    John 20:1-10 Hebrews 11:9-10, 32-40 Matthew 1:1-25

    God bless!

    John 20

1 The first day of the week cometh Mary Magdalene early, when it was yet
dark, unto the sepulchre, and seeth the stone taken away from the sepulchre.
2 Then she runneth, and cometh to Simon Peter, and to the other disciple,
whom Jesus loved, and saith unto them, They have taken away the LORD out of the
sepulchre, and we know not where they have laid him.
3 Peter therefore went forth, and that other disciple, and came to the
    sepulchre.
4 So they ran both together: and the other disciple did outrun Peter, and
    came first to the sepulchre.
5 And he stooping down, and looking in, saw the linen clothes lying; yet went
    he not in.
6 Then cometh Simon Peter following him, and went into the sepulchre, and
    seeth the linen clothes lie,
7 And the napkin, that was about his head, not lying with the linen clothes,
but wrapped together in a place by itself.
8 Then went in also that other disciple, which came first to the sepulchre,
    and he saw, and believed.
9 For as yet they knew not the scripture, that he must rise again from the
    dead.
10 Then the disciples went away again unto their own home.

    Hebrews 11

9 By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country,
dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same
    promise:
10 For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker
    is God.
32 And what shall I more say? for the time would fail me to tell of Gedeon,
and of Barak, and of Samson, and of Jephthae; of David also, and Samuel, and of
    the prophets:
33 Who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained
promises, stopped the mouths of lions,
34 Quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of
weakness were made strong, waxed valiant in fight, turned to flight the armies
    of the aliens.
35 Women received their dead raised to life again: and others were tortured,
not accepting deliverance; that they might obtain a better resurrection:
36 And others had trial of cruel mockings and scourgings, yea, moreover of
    bonds and imprisonment:
37 They were stoned, they were sawn asunder, were tempted, were slain with
the sword: they wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins; being destitute,
    afflicted, tormented;
38 (Of whom the world was not worthy:) they wandered in deserts, and in
mountains, and in dens and caves of the earth.
39 And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not
    the promise:
40 God having provided some better thing for us, that they without us should
    not be made perfect.

    Matthew 1

1 The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of
    Abraham.
2 Abraham begat Isaac; and Isaac begat Jacob; and Jacob begat Judas and his
    brethren;
3 And Judas begat Phares and Zara of Thamar; and Phares begat Esrom; and
    Esrom begat Aram;
4 And Aram begat Aminadab; and Aminadab begat Naasson; and Naasson begat
    Salmon;
5 And Salmon begat Booz of Rachab; and Booz begat Obed of Ruth; and Obed
    begat Jesse;
6 And Jesse begat David the king; and David the king begat Solomon of her
    that had been the wife of Urias;
      7 And Solomon begat Roboam; and Roboam begat Abia; and Abia begat Asa;
      8 And Asa begat Josaphat; and Josaphat begat Joram; and Joram begat Ozias;
      9 And Ozias begat Joatham; and Joatham begat Achaz; and Achaz begat Ezekias;
10 And Ezekias begat Manasses; and Manasses begat Amon; and Amon begat
    Josias;
11 And Josias begat Jechonias and his brethren, about the time they were
    carried away to Babylon:
12 And after they were brought to Babylon, Jechonias begat Salathiel; and
    Salathiel begat Zorobabel;
13 And Zorobabel begat Abiud; and Abiud begat Eliakim; and Eliakim begat
    Azor;
      14 And Azor begat Sadoc; and Sadoc begat Achim; and Achim begat Eliud;
15 And Eliud begat Eleazar; and Eleazar begat Matthan; and Matthan begat
    Jacob;
16 And Jacob begat Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is
    called Christ.
17 So all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations; and
from David until the carrying away into Babylon are fourteen generations; and
from the carrying away into Babylon unto Christ are fourteen generations.
18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary
was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of
    the Holy Ghost.
19 Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a
publick example, was minded to put her away privily.
20 But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the LORD
appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to
take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy
    Ghost.
21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for
he shall save his people from their sins.
22 Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the
    Lord by the prophet, saying,
23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and
they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.
24 Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had
bidden him, and took unto him his wife:
25 And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he
    called his name JESUS.

Two upgrades and two fresh installs without any errors or issues. The upgrades used sources.list files that only included stable "main" but the fresh installs from a netinst.iso added "non-free-firmware" in addition to bookworm "main". Sure would be nice to have an option to omit the "non-free-firmware" lines from our own sources.list file during install. I used the non-graphical installer and looked everywhere for the option to omit "non-free-firmware". I could have dropped into a terminal shell and edited the "/etc/apt/sources.list" file myself but I was just following the installer's menu. Keep it "free" as in freedom! Thanks!

Fifteen years ago tomorrow I published the first post on the fediverse.

It's still visible on Identi.ca today, although the URL format changed a few years ago, and the redirect plugin stopped working a few years after that.

Thanks to everyone who made identi.ca a great place to be, and thanks to everyone who's expanded the fediverse since then.

Someday soon-ish I'd like to have identi.ca working with ActivityPub. When I get the time for it!

  • The True Faith of the republics of Donetsk and Lugansk

    Rod Ross at 2022-02-26T20:19:10Z

What I do not understand is why the banking institutions, actors, the Press, etcetera and all our "elected" ( or not ) Politicians, who helped install the leaders of the Ukraine, are punishing or blaming the republic of Russia when the republics of Donetsk and Lugansk are the ones seeking freedom and independence from Ukraine's religious tyranny and not Russia. Ukraine has a Ashkenazi “AKA Nazi” Jewish leader, who has ties to Israel and Poland and he wanted to meet Russia in Poland to have Israel broker or mediate the peace talks. For those who do not know the Ashkenazi purport to be the only ones who are of Abraham’s seed and they think that the Ashkennazi are the only ones who are God’s chosen and hold themselves racially above all others even saying that the Saphardic Jews are not really Jews because of the Saphardic Jew’s race. It’s all about bloodline to the Ashkenazi who are racists and nazis. The rest of Ukraine's primarily western installed leadership is clearly Roman Catholic, even publicly speaking of "purgatory" when publicly insulting regional Christians there, when real Christians, like those who practice Orthodoxy, do not believe in any of these such beliefs as “purgatory”. The republics of Donetsk and Lugansk are clearly seeking independence from infidels who are known for physically attacking Orthodox Christians because of a hate they have for the Orthodox Christian’s faith, which these Jews and Roman Catholics are much like the Muslims in the Middle East in their harmful dictatorial actions. I think it is good for the republics of Donetsk and Lugansk to seek religious freedom from infidels and to reach out to their Christian brothers in Russia for assistance but any war is the result of Ukraine not allowing those republics of Donetsk and Lugansk their liberty and freedom and Ukraine imposing their cults on the republics of Donetsk and Lugansk.

    1 John 3

9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in

him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

10 In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil:

whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his

    brother.

11 For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should

    love one another.

12 Not as Cain, who was of that wicked one, and slew his brother. And

wherefore slew he him? Because his own works were evil, and his brother's

    righteous.

13 Marvel not, my brethren, if the world hate you.

14 We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the

brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death.

15 Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer

hath eternal life abiding in him.

16 Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us:

and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.

17 But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and

shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in

    him?

18 My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in

    deed and in truth.

19 And hereby we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts

    before him.

20 For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth

    all things.

21 Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, then have we confidence toward God.

22 And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his

commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.

    Mark 14

10 And Judas Iscariot, one of the twelve, went unto the chief priests, to

    betray him unto them.

11 And when they heard it, they were glad, and promised to give him money.

And he sought how he might conveniently betray him.

12 And the first day of unleavened bread, when they killed the passover, his

disciples said unto him, Where wilt thou that we go and prepare that thou

    mayest eat the passover?

13 And he sendeth forth two of his disciples, and saith unto them, Go ye into

the city, and there shall meet you a man bearing a pitcher of water: follow

    him.

14 And wheresoever he shall go in, say ye to the goodman of the house, The

Master saith, Where is the guestchamber, where I shall eat the passover with my

    disciples?

15 And he will shew you a large upper room furnished and prepared: there make

    ready for us.

16 And his disciples went forth, and came into the city, and found as he had

said unto them: and they made ready the passover.

17 And in the evening he cometh with the twelve.

18 And as they sat and did eat, Jesus said, Verily I say unto you, One of you

which eateth with me shall betray me.

19 And they began to be sorrowful, and to say unto him one by one, Is it I?

and another said, Is it I?

20 And he answered and said unto them, It is one of the twelve, that dippeth

    with me in the dish.

21 The Son of man indeed goeth, as it is written of him: but woe to that man

by whom the Son of man is betrayed! good were it for that man if he had never

    been born.

22 And as they did eat, Jesus took bread, and blessed, and brake it, and gave

to them, and said, Take, eat: this is my body.

23 And he took the cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them: and

    they all drank of it.

24 And he said unto them, This is my blood of the new testament, which is

    shed for many.

25 Verily I say unto you, I will drink no more of the fruit of the vine,

until that day that I drink it new in the kingdom of God.

26 And when they had sung an hymn, they went out into the mount of Olives.

27 And Jesus saith unto them, All ye shall be offended because of me this

night: for it is written, I will smite the shepherd, and the sheep shall be

    scattered.

28 But after that I am risen, I will go before you into Galilee.

29 But Peter said unto him, Although all shall be offended, yet will not I.

30 And Jesus saith unto him, Verily I say unto thee, That this day, even in

this night, before the cock crow twice, thou shalt deny me thrice.

31 But he spake the more vehemently, If I should die with thee, I will not

deny thee in any wise. Likewise also said they all.

32 And they came to a place which was named Gethsemane: and he saith to his

disciples, Sit ye here, while I shall pray.

33 And he taketh with him Peter and James and John, and began to be sore

    amazed, and to be very heavy;

34 And saith unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful unto death: tarry ye

    here, and watch.

35 And he went forward a little, and fell on the ground, and prayed that, if

it were possible, the hour might pass from him.

36 And he said, Abba, Father, all things are possible unto thee; take away

this cup from me: nevertheless not what I will, but what thou wilt.

37 And he cometh, and findeth them sleeping, and saith unto Peter, Simon,

sleepest thou? couldest not thou watch one hour?

38 Watch ye and pray, lest ye enter into temptation. The spirit truly is

ready, but the flesh is weak.

39 And again he went away, and prayed, and spake the same words.

40 And when he returned, he found them asleep again, (for their eyes were

heavy,) neither wist they what to answer him.

41 And he cometh the third time, and saith unto them, Sleep on now, and take

your rest: it is enough, the hour is come; behold, the Son of man is betrayed

    into the hands of sinners.

42 Rise up, let us go; lo, he that betrayeth me is at hand.

    1 John 2

18 Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist

shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the

    last time.

19 They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of

us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they

might be made manifest that they were not all of us.

20 But ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things.

21 I have not written unto you because ye know not the truth, but because ye

know it, and that no lie is of the truth.

22 Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is

antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.

23 Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: he that

acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also.

24 Let that therefore abide in you, which ye have heard from the beginning.

If that which ye have heard from the beginning shall remain in you, ye also

shall continue in the Son, and in the Father.

25 And this is the promise that he hath promised us, even eternal life.

26 These things have I written unto you concerning them that seduce you.

27 But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye

need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all

things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall

    abide in him.

28 And now, little children, abide in him; that, when he shall appear, we may

have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming.

29 If ye know that he is righteous, ye know that every one that doeth

    righteousness is born of him.

    1 John 3

1 Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we

should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because

    it knew him not.

2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we

shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we

shall see him as he is.

3 And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is

    pure.

4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the

    transgression of the law.

5 And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no

    sin.

6 Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him,

    neither known him.

7 Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is

righteous, even as he is righteous.

8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the

beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might

destroy the works of the devil.

    Mark 11

1 And when they came nigh to Jerusalem, unto Bethphage and Bethany, at the

mount of Olives, he sendeth forth two of his disciples,

2 And saith unto them, Go your way into the village over against you: and as

soon as ye be entered into it, ye shall find a colt tied, whereon never man

sat; loose him, and bring him.

3 And if any man say unto you, Why do ye this? say ye that the Lord hath need

of him; and straightway he will send him hither.

4 And they went their way, and found the colt tied by the door without in a

place where two ways met; and they loose him.

5 And certain of them that stood there said unto them, What do ye, loosing

    the colt?

6 And they said unto them even as Jesus had commanded: and they let them go.

7 And they brought the colt to Jesus, and cast their garments on him; and he

    sat upon him.

8 And many spread their garments in the way: and others cut down branches off

the trees, and strawed them in the way.

    9 And they that went before, and they that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna;

Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord:

10 Blessed be the kingdom of our father David, that cometh in the name of the

    Lord: Hosanna in the highest.

11 And Jesus entered into Jerusalem, and into the temple: and when he had

looked round about upon all things, and now the eventide was come, he went out

    unto Bethany with the twelve.

    Mark 16

1 And when the sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of

James, and Salome, had bought sweet spices, that they might come and anoint

    him.

2 And very early in the morning the first day of the week, they came unto the

sepulchre at the rising of the sun.

3 And they said among themselves, Who shall roll us away the stone from the

    door of the sepulchre?

4 And when they looked, they saw that the stone was rolled away: for it was

    very great.

5 And entering into the sepulchre, they saw a young man sitting on the right

side, clothed in a long white garment; and they were affrighted.

6 And he saith unto them, Be not affrighted: Ye seek Jesus of Nazareth, which

was crucified: he is risen; he is not here: behold the place where they laid

    him.

7 But go your way, tell his disciples and Peter that he goeth before you into

Galilee: there shall ye see him, as he said unto you.

8 And they went out quickly, and fled from the sepulchre; for they trembled

and were amazed: neither said they any thing to any man; for they were afraid.

    1 Corinthians 6

12 All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient: all

things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any.

13 Meats for the belly, and the belly for meats: but God shall destroy both

it and them. Now the body is not for fornication, but for the Lord; and the

    Lord for the body.

14 And God hath both raised up the Lord, and will also raise up us by his own

    power.

15 Know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ? shall I then take

the members of Christ, and make them the members of an harlot? God forbid.

16 What? know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body? for

two, saith he, shall be one flesh.

17 But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.

18 Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he

that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.

19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is

in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in

    your spirit, which are God's.

goods that falleth to me. And he divided unto them his living.

13 And not many days after the younger son gathered all together, and took

his journey into a far country, and there wasted his substance with riotous

    living.

14 And when he had spent all, there arose a mighty famine in that land; and

he began to be in want.

15 And he went and joined himself to a citizen of that country; and he sent

him into his fields to feed swine.

16 And he would fain have filled his belly with the husks that the swine did

eat: and no man gave unto him.

17 And when he came to himself, he said, How many hired servants of my

father's have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger!

18 I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I have

sinned against heaven, and before thee,

19 And am no more worthy to be called thy son: make me as one of thy hired

    servants.

20 And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off,

his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and

    kissed him.

21 And the son said unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in

thy sight, and am no more worthy to be called thy son.

22 But the father said to his servants, Bring forth the best robe, and put it

on him; and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet:

23 And bring hither the fatted calf, and kill it; and let us eat, and be

    merry:

24 For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found.

And they began to be merry.

25 Now his elder son was in the field: and as he came and drew nigh to the

house, he heard musick and dancing.

26 And he called one of the servants, and asked what these things meant.

27 And he said unto him, Thy brother is come; and thy father hath killed the

fatted calf, because he hath received him safe and sound.

28 And he was angry, and would not go in: therefore came his father out, and

    intreated him.

29 And he answering said to his father, Lo, these many years do I serve thee,

neither transgressed I at any time thy commandment: and yet thou never gavest

me a kid, that I might make merry with my friends:

30 But as soon as this thy son was come, which hath devoured thy living with

harlots, thou hast killed for him the fatted calf.

31 And he said unto him, Son, thou art ever with me, and all that I have is

    thine.

32 It was meet that we should make merry, and be glad: for this thy brother

was dead, and is alive again; and was lost, and is found.

Even The Rand Corp says the USA needs to get out of the war in Ukraine. In this 8+ year Donbass war in which the Russians joined only to save the people of the Donbass, we are supporting the wrong side by supporting the Nazis of Ukraine.

“Our government rests upon religion. It is from that source that we derive our reverence for truth and justice, for equality and liberality, and for the rights of mankind. Unless the people believe in these principles they cannot believe in our government. There are only two main theories of government in our world. One rests on righteousness and the other on force. One appeals to reason, and the other appeals to the sword. One is exemplified in the republic, the other is represented by despotism.

The government of a country never gets ahead of the religion of a country. There is no way by which we can substitute the authority of law for the virtue of man. Of course we endeavor to restrain the vicious, and furnish a fair degree of security and protection by legislation and police control, but the real reform which society in these days is seeking will come as a result of our religious convictions, or they will not come at all. Peace, justice, humanity, charity—these cannot be legislated into being. They are the result of divine grace.”

“The law represents the voice of the people. Behind it, and supporting it, is a divine sanction. Enforcement of law and obedience to law, by the very nature of our institutions, are not matters of choice in this republic, but the expression of a mortal requirement of living in accordance with the truth. They are clothed with a spiritual significance, in which is revealed the life or the death of the American ideal of self-government.”
