welll...non-free software still exists, but there is more free software in use now than at any other point in human history. In particular the Linux kernel is used on an insane number of devices, I'm not certain but there may be more devices utilizing the kernel Linux than those that do not. Particularly most servers in active use and world-wide more than half of the SmartPhones in use.
