I assume that there is some discussion somewhere about the pros and cons of including titles in pump.io's web client, and the decision not to include them in the web client. I've sort of been convinced that titles are a good thing, and I don't like posting status updates without titles.

Now, I don't want to just whinge about how inconvenient stuff that other people built for me is, but I will anyway because it isn't just a question of how lazy I am. It's a question of enticing other people to adopt federated social media as a real alternative to, you know, silos. This is a totally Stevecentric perspective, but I believe that the obstacles I encounter are obstacles other people encounter. While I am motivated to push past those obstacles, long experience shows that removing obstacles is what gets things used. This really shouldn't be controversial.

Oh well. Do I have a point? Not really. I just feel sad and tired whenever I realize that I've tweeted a bajillion times in the last month and haven't done squat here in the pumpiverse so then I think about posting and... oh dear, do I really want to spin up the VM with Linux on it?

I'm seeing how little tolerance I have for even minor inconveniences and despairing of the prospects of success convincing other people to overcome what might be a bigger inconvenience for them than for me. (I mean, how many of my non-developer friends run VMs?)
