Anybody want to go to South America with me? My wife won't go to Buenos Aires, even though my old roommate lives there. I don't see myself ever becoming fluent in Spanish. Maybe I should just give up on going to South America altogether. In 2010 I had been Asia, Europe, and Africa.

Then law school happened. The Wendy's residency and fellowship happened. Then we got married and bought a condo. But now, there's no real excuse except the cats I guess. Well, Wendy is doing a master's program. I don't know. It seems like plenty of people go to South America that aren't fluent in Spanish. I'm not sure why this is a requirement. It's frustrating.

knowing some of the basics of the language used in the country you visit sounds reasonable. i doubt you need to be fluent
